Colleague Engagement

Colleague Engagement

All our Cumberland colleagues can take a day of paid leave each year to volunteer. It’s another example of Kinder Banking in action.

In 2024/2025 189 colleagues took advantage of the scheme to volunteer with a wide variety of charities and good causes. Among them are FareShare – our partner for Kinder Kind of Kitchen – Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Longtown Primary School, Uncovering Roman Carlisle’s archaeological dig, Dumfries and Galloway Canine Rescue Centre and Well Suited, an initiative that provides clothes for job hunters to wear at interview.

Other organisations where colleagues have volunteered include Eden Animal Rescue, Eden Valley Hospice, the advocacy charity People First and Family Action, which supports families in crisis.

What's brilliant to see when people use their community day is how much this benefits them and the people they are helping. It's something we’re really proud of.
