What to expect at each stage of your application for a vacancy at The Cumberland.

Application Process

Here's what to expect at each stage of your application:

  1. Apply Online

    Browse our current vacancies. If you find a job that fits with your ambitions and experience, you can apply online by filling in our short form and uploading your CV.

  2. Interviews

    If you’re successfully shortlisted you will be invited for an initial competency-based interview with one of our People Managers. Depending on the role, your interview process may also include role-related tasks or an aptitude test, a second interview and/ or may be part of one of our Assessment Centres.
  3. Getting to know each other

    Cultural fit is just as important to us as technical competence and assessing against our core values plays a major role in our recruitment process. It’s just as much about you choosing us as us choosing you, so you’ll have the opportunity to get to know The Cumberland and the people that make it such a great place to work.
  4. The Legal Bits and Your Offer

    We’re a regulated business, so we‘ll need to do some pre-employment checks with you before you join. If you are successful, we’ll make you a conditional offer of employment subject to our clearance checks. These will include checking your references, your highest qualification, right to work in the UK, credit history and a medical questionnaire. For some of our roles, we’ll need to undertake extra checks but we’ll let you know what’s required and we’ll always ask you before we do them.
  5. Welcoming you on board

    Once your start date has been agreed, your People Manager will be in touch with all the information you need for your first day. We’ll look forward to welcoming you on board.
