You have led The Cumberland’s intermediary partnership drive since early 2023, following its launch in 2021, although you have worked at the mutual for many years. How did your experience prepare you for the broker launch?

The Cumberland for Intermediaries has come a long way since its formal launch in 2021. I’ve been with the society since 1997 in a variety of roles, but building out the vision and people involved in our intermediary brand has been a key career highlight so far.

The Cumberland has announced the launch of its new Affordability Calculator, designed to streamline the mortgage application process for brokers and enhance the efficiency of intermediary lending.

Last month The Cumberland Building Society was added to Mortgage Brain’s Sourcing and Criteria Brain platforms, seeing its range of home mover, first-time buyer and remortgage residential products made available to brokers across the building society’s core operating area.

As part of the growth of our Intermediary Lending Team, The Cumberland Building Society will now feature on two new sourcing systems: Twenty7tec and Mortgage Brain, making us even more accessible to the broker network.

The Cumberland continues to develop its Intermediary lending team as its distribution channel expansion gathers momentum.

The Cumberland is now beginning to slowly expand its residential offering, after supporting holiday let business owners across the country for a number of years.

A father and daughter duo who embarked upon their holiday-let business journey in 2017 are now thriving with a six-property portfolio, thanks to support from The Cumberland.
