Cumberland to makeover Rosehill branch
The Cumberland Building Society has announced an investment in its Rosehill branch which will need to temporarily close while the works are carried out.
The Society says it needs to shut the branch from 4pm on Thursday 28 August. It will reopen at 9:30am on Monday 15 September.
The Cumberland will be making improvements inside the branch with some redecorating and installation of new digital display screens.
Lewis Benson, Area Manager of the branch network, said: “We’re celebrating our 175th birthday this year and a part of that is our commitment to branches as part of our ‘Kinder banking’ purpose. For our Rosehill branch, this means the opportunity to invest in its interior with some upgrades to the décor, to improve the overall experience for our customers for years to come.”
“Our Rosehill colleagues will be working at our English Street and Kingstown branches during this temporary closure so people will see the same friendly faces there for a couple of weeks and all calls to Rosehill will be automatically transferred to them,” he added.
The Cumberland’s Rosehill team has already been speaking to regular customers about the temporary closure to reassure them that they will still be able to use the building society’s services and that the branch will reopen after its refresh. During this time, the nearest alternative branches are on English Street and Kingstown Road. The Customer Care team will also be available as usual on Monday to Friday from 8am – 7pm and on a Saturday from 8:30am-4pm on 01228 403141.
“When the branch reopens, hopefully customers will appreciate the work we’ve done, but the main thing they will notice is that our team is back in place and eager to resume helping customers with our award-winning customer service,” Lewis said.
The Rosehill branch opening hours will remain unchanged and will continue to serve the public as usual following the works.
The work follows the recent refurbishment of the Cumberland’s branches in English Street, Egremont and Preston, and underlines the Society’s commitment to its branch network as bank closures continue apace.
Based in Carlisle, it is Cumbria’s largest financial institution with 31 branches across Cumbria, Northumberland, Lancashire and southwest Scotland.
