Android is an operating system which runs on lots of different devices e.g. Samsung, Google Pixel, Huawei, Motorola, Oppo and others.

To check whether your device has an update available follow the below steps.

For iOS:

Go to Settings > General > Software Update

Here you will either have an update available to download and then install or it will say you are ‘Up to date.’

You can also check whether you have ‘Automatic updates’ enabled here too. With this enabled or ‘On’ your software updates will download and install automatically overnight when your phone is plugged in to power.

For Android:

Go to Settings > System > Software update.

Here you'll find your update status. If an update is available, you can follow the on-screen instructions. If not, you’ll be told you’re ‘Up to date.’

You can also check here whether you have ‘Automatic downloads’ enabled too. With this enabled or ‘Toggled on’ your software updates will download automatically when connected to Wi-Fi. You can then install when convenient.

Android will also notify you when an update is available. You can download and install directly from the notification.
