Our Current Accounts

Banking with the Cumberland allows you to have a current account with a building society rather than a bank, whilst giving you the friendly customer service you would expect from a mutual.

Our comprehensive banking products are packed with transactional features, with some of our Current Account products offering access to preferential savings rates for on-line customers. An additional benefit of our contactless Visa debit card for personal banking customers is that it may be used abroad without including a foreign currency fee, which many other providers do charge.

Cumberland Plus Current Account
A competitive, comprehensive current account which includes the option of an overdraft but requires £750 per month minimum funding.
Freedom Apprentice Current Account
An account specifically designed for young people on apprentice schemes. A great first bank account for those embarking on their careers with no minimum funding requirement.
Day2Day Account
A more basic bank account with a lower, minimum funding requirement of £200 per month but no overdraft. Good for young people and those not requiring an overdraft and without the income to meet Cumberland Plus’s funding threshold.
Current Account Switch Guarantee
Switch from one bank or building society to another in a simple, reliable and stress-free way. It will only take seven working days.
Fee Information Documents
The Fee Information Documents provide details of the fees for using the main services linked to our individual current accounts (known as payment accounts).
